On April 13, 2025, the Buffalo community lost one of its brightest young stars. Hannah St. Cyr, a 17-year-old student at The Park School of Buffalo, tragically passed away in a car accident, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and a deep sense of community that continues to inspire those who knew her.
Hannah’s presence at school and in life was something special. Known for her infectious laugh and boundless empathy, she carried herself with a grace that touched classmates, teachers, and everyone around her. “She had a way of making people feel seen,” said one friend. “She noticed the quiet ones, checked in on the sad ones, and celebrated the wins of others without envy.”
More than just a scholar, Hannah was a performer, a volunteer, and a trusted friend. Her involvement in school plays brought stories to life, and her passion for community service showed her commitment to helping others. It was never about recognition for Hannah—it was simply about doing good and bringing joy wherever she could.
The upcoming Funeral Service to honor her life will be held Friday at 10 AM at Temple Beth Tzedek in Williamsville. The livestream will be accessible at btzbuffalo.org for those unable to attend. On Sunday, a Shiva gathering will take place at 60 Contessa Ct., offering a time for those closest to her to remember, grieve, and lean on one another.
In the days since Hannah’s passing, countless stories have emerged from friends, teachers, and neighbors—each one a testament to the deep impression she left in such a short time. “It’s hard to believe someone so young could be so wise,” shared a teacher. “She showed us all how to lead with compassion.”
Though her physical presence is gone, Hannah’s spirit lives on in the acts of kindness she inspired and the connections she fostered. As her community continues to mourn, they also vow to live a little more like Hannah—loving deeply, giving freely, and appreciating every fleeting moment.
