Kerstin Akaka, a registered nurse at AdventHealth Ocala, passed away at the age of 29, leaving behind a legacy of service, compassion, and dedication. Her death has left a void in the healthcare community, but her contributions continue to inspire those who knew her.
Kerstin’s journey into nursing was driven by a deep desire to help others. She pursued her education with determination, earning her credentials and beginning her career at AdventHealth Ocala. Her colleagues recall her as a dedicated professional who approached every task with care and attention to detail. She was known for her ability to connect with patients, providing not only medical care but also emotional support during challenging times.
Beyond her professional achievements, Kerstin was a beloved member of the Ocala community. She volunteered her time to various local organizations, always eager to lend a hand where needed. Her kindness and generosity were evident in all aspects of her life, and she touched the hearts of many.
In honor of Kerstin’s memory, AdventHealth Ocala has established a scholarship fund to support aspiring nurses. This initiative reflects her commitment to the nursing profession and ensures that her legacy will continue to inspire future generations.
A visitation will be held on Monday, April 21, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a service beginning at 7:00 PM, at Roberts of Ocala Funeral Home – Downtown Chapel, 606 SW 2nd Ave, Ocala, Florida 34471.
